At the heart of Journey 2 Renewal lies a sacred commitment: to walk with individuals and families through some of life’s most vulnerable and tender moments. As a hospice chaplain, my role is to be a spiritual companion, a steady presence, and a compassionate guide for those nearing the end of life and those who love them.
Hospice chaplaincy is not about preaching—it’s about presence. In a world that often fears death, I enter into spaces of pain, uncertainty, and love with a heart that listens more than it speaks. My ministry is rooted in the belief that every life carries deep meaning, and every soul deserves to be seen, heard, and honored.
Journey 2 Renewal recognizes that healing is not always physical—sometimes, renewal comes in letting go, in reconciling relationships, in spiritual peace. My ministry in hospice is not only about helping people die well—it’s about helping them live fully until the final breath. It is sacred work, and it is an honor.
Each visit, prayer, or shared moment is a seed planted in trust—an invitation to renewal even at the edge of life. This ministry is not only a part of Journey 2 Renewal—it is one of its most tender and transformative expressions.
A hospice chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to patients and families facing the end of life. This can include prayer, conversation, legacy work, compassionate listening, and helping navigate spiritual questions, grief, or doubt. The chaplain serves people of all faiths and those with no religious background.
No. Our ministry is grounded in compassion, dignity, and presence—not in religious requirements. Whether someone is deeply faithful, spiritual but not religious, questioning, or has no belief system, we offer support that honors their journey and personal beliefs.
Visit frequency is tailored to each patient’s needs and wishes. Some individuals prefer weekly or biweekly visits, while others request support only during specific moments of transition or reflection. We also offer as-needed (PRN) visits.
Every visit is unique. It may include prayer, spiritual readings, music, conversation, reflection, or simply sitting in silence. The goal is always to offer comfort, peace, and a supportive presence—guided by what matters most to the patient and their loved ones.
Yes. Our chaplains are members of the interdisciplinary hospice team, working closely with nurses, social workers, CNAs, and other care professionals to provide holistic support—addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Yes. We are honored to help families plan and lead services such as funerals, celebrations of life, graveside blessings, or memorial gatherings. We also offer bereavement follow-up and spiritual support for families during the grieving process.
If your loved one is receiving hospice care, simply ask the care team to request chaplain support. You can also connect with us through Journey 2 Renewal to learn more about how we walk with families during these sacred times.
Even when a patient is non-verbal or unresponsive, spiritual care remains meaningful. We may pray, read Scripture, play soft music, or sit quietly at the bedside. Presence alone can be deeply comforting and affirming.
Journey 2 Renewal is more than a ministry—it’s a movement of compassion rooted in faith, service, and sacred presence. Our focus is not just on helping individuals die well, but on helping them live with dignity, connection, and peace until their final breath. We believe that healing and renewal can still happen, even in life’s final chapter.
